Ultrasound Body Fat/Muscle Analyzer
The beautytek Data Support Device (DSD) uses ultrasound and it's intended use, is for the measurement of localized fat layer thickness and localized muscle layer thickness. beautytek DSD can be used to estimate total body fat percentage.

The beautytek DSD software is used for the calculation of the following:

  • Total body fat percentage
  • Localized fat layer thickness
  • Localized muscle layer thickness

The beautytek DSD software is used for calculating Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) and Body Mass Index (BMI).

The beautytek DSD software is designed to estimate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). The beautytek DSD software can track changes in measurements and generate body composition reports.

SOFTWARE COMPONENTS

Body Status
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the minimum caloric requirement to maintain the client's present body weight. A user can select an activity level by clicking on the appropriate button.

Once a profile is created or opened, the "Body status" screen will appear. The "Body status" shows the client's current status. If this is the first assessment for the client, the values shown are an estimate based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and body type. If not, the values are from the client's last assessment or entered values.

This three-dimensional illustration is only intended as a guide to aid the client in visualizing present body composition. The user can select the desired weight and body fat percentage (BF %) to view an approximate illustration of the client's future body image. Changing the weight and BF % will cause an appropriate change to the illustration.

Measuring Body Fat Percentage
To make a measurement you must first select a formula to use. In most cases the default 3- point formula is a good option.

For more accurate assessments formulas with more points can be used. Simply use the drop down menu as shown above to select the desired formula. The number of available formulas depends on gender and age.

For the Waist to Hip Ratio (WHR) measure your client's waist and hip circumference and put it down in the field "Value" in the "Circumference Measurements" window.
